Overview
This winch support is specifically designed for vertical pulling with our BI2000 winch
If you want to use the BI1800 winches, you will need to use the BIA-1264 support
It is equipped with an adjustable shelf and provides solid and stable support, allowing the winch to be properly seated.
It also features a removable “V” shaped pulley mounted on ball bearings for optimal rotation. This pulley redirects the rope vertically at an angle to reach sections of towers or pylons far from the center.
To install the rope, simply remove the “T” handle and pulley, thread the rope, and then replace the handle and pulley.
Although originally designed for lifting, note that it can also be used for pulling when combined with the pivoting anchor (BIA-1332)
This accessory makes the BIA-2264 highly versatile.
Note that when used for horizontal pulling, the “V” pulley is not used.
As our winches are portable, they can be anchored anywhere! As you will notice in this section, Portable Winch Co. has developed different modular anchoring devices that allow a wide variety of fixed objects to be used as anchor points. Whether it is a cylindrical object (tree, pole, etc.), a vehicle, a pylon, and even a floor, all can be used as an anchor point for your winch, using the right equipment especially designed for this purpose.
ON CYLINDRICAL OBJECT
The easiest way is to use the 2.5-metre sling provided with each winch. Attach the sling to one of the winch’s hooks, wrap the sling around your anchor point and insert its other end into the second hook.
There are 2 and 3-metre slings BIA-1260 to adapt to different sizes or poles. Other anchoring systems will give you more stability and a more comfortable work position.
The BIA-1269 is designed to be as light as possible, while the BIA-1263 offers several possibilities in combination with the BIA-1268, BIA-1332, BIA-1264 or BIA-2264 for instance.
Furthermore, the BIA-1263 will not damage the tree or pole on which it is anchored thanks to its rubber pads.
Specifications
Note: The BIA-2264 cannot be used alone; it must be combined with other accessories to operate.
Different combinations are possible depending on the type of operation and environment.
Refer to the figures to see all possible configurations.
For example, when paired with certain accessories, it can be used for horizontal pulling.
In this case, the winch faces the load and the rope runs in a straight line to the winch.
Whereas when combined with other accessories, it is used for vertical pulling.
In these cases, the winch faces the anchor point and the rope comes from above to the winch.
